Restorative Yoga – Hip Opening

A beginner restorative yoga class designed to bring an awareness to the hip socket, and the hamstrings. Great for runners, and athletes that have tightened up the hips and hamstrings too much. Also a great way to relieve Sciatica nerve pain, as long as you approach it on the gentle side. A relaxed start leads into some deeper hip opening poses. The whole class is taken in the reclining position. The movements are slow and intended to bring blood and energy in the entire leg, from the sole of the foot, all the way to the hip. This class could also serve a great stress reducer either first thing in the morning, or before bed.

The Power of Poetry

  1. A poet's work is to name the unnameable, to point at frauds, to take sides, start arguments, shape the world, and stop it going to sleep.    Salman Rushdie

  2. Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear; Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same, And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back. I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-- I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.

  3. Poetry is important. No less than science, it seeks a hold upon reality, and the closeness of its approach is the test of its success.   Babette Deutsch

  4. Scrub every inch of my intellect with a poetry covered loofa
  5. "For whatever we lose, like a you or a me, it's always our self we find in the sea." E.E. Cummings. #sunset #sea #ocean #poetry #eecummings

  6. flowers of poetry ~ need bees of inspiration ~ produce fruit poems #haiku #mypoetry pic.twitter.com/mLgHfKqusK
  7. "All religion, my friend, is simply evolved out of fraud, fear, greed, imagination, and poetry." - Edgar Allan Poe

    World Poetry Day 2013
  9. Good poetry could not have been otherwise written than it is. The first time you hear it, it sounds rather as if copied out of some invisible tablet in the Eternal mind than as if arbitrarily composed by the poet.   Ralph Waldo Emerson

  10. “Poetry is eternal graffiti written in the heart of everyone.” - Lawrence Ferlinghetti (born today, 1919) pic.twitter.com/nOxh6AYl9e
